Social Walks

These are held on the first Sunday of the month. It is a walk with the trainer where you can work on your training and social skills with other dogs, ask for help and direction while on the walk and gives you an opportunity to check you are on the right track!

If you are attending the Reactive Dog Class or are undergoing Behaviour Counselling for reactivity you will need to check with Dale before you attend.

Reactive Dog Class
This course is designed to help with dog to dog reactivity.
The course will give you an understanding of why your dog reacts, what happens to the dog when they react, how to deal with this and how to help your dog.

This is not a socialisation course, we are working on changing your dogs emotional response to the stimulus.
Spaces are limited.

At VIP Dog Training we help take the stress out of training and owning a dog and will show you how have a relaxed, but fun dog who you will enjoy a lifetime of companionship with , all using the most up to date, Science Based, modern, reward based techniques.

By following our proven methods we guarantee that you will see an improvement in your dogs behaviour. The longer you attend for, the better the results! It really is risk free! Using positive, reward based methods, with the focus on building a good relationship with your dog, our syllabuses have been formulated because of our experience of what works to make great companion dog. We don't believe in training an exercise because of what the "experts" say a pooch should know! We believe in training an exercise because it makes the experience of living with a companion dog much more pleasurable. ALL OF OUR SERVICES COME WITH TELEPHONE AND EMAIL SUPPORT!

Behaviour Counselling

If you are having difficulties with your dog that is more than just them being a bit naughty then you may need behavioural counselling. This is more in depth than just a jumping up or lead pulling problem. If your dog is lunging and barking at people of dogs with the intent to hurt them, biting other people or dogs, has separation anxiety or is fearful, then this is the option for you!

This option is only offered as a programme as this is a more indepth process

We also offer a range of outdoor workshops and social walks which we recommend that you attend to help your dog generalise the training to the places which really matter!

You have 6 months to use your class, one to ones, social walks and workshops once you have purchased them.
All purchases are non refundable.
No services are transferable to any other dog or person or alternative service.
If you can't complete the course we can't be held responsible for this - only book onto a course if you are happy you can complete it!
We reserve the right to cancel a course if there are not enough attendees, in the event this happens you will be offered an alternative course or a credit valid for 6 months.
If the instructor is unwell we reserve the right to transfer the session to another date, in this situation an alternative date will be offered for the session.
Please be on time for your class, if you are late we cannot guarantee we will have time to catch you up during the session.
Please exercise your dog before you come to classes, a dog with too much energy in the class will have difficulty concentrating.
Please don't give your dog all of its dinner/breakfast before you come to class, if your dog has a full belly you may have difficulty motivating your dog during class. If the session is a very active class your dog will be very uncomfortable if they have a full belly, and this can also lead to intestinal problems - exercising on a full belly is never good for your dog.

We do use treats and some sessions may be treat heavy so please make sure you have plenty.

Please make sure the treats are high value. For most exercises their food biscuits will not motivate your dog.
If your dog toilets at the venue it is your responsibility to clean up after your dog. Please make sure that you clean up after your dog wherever they toilet
Do not dispose of any toileting waste in the bins inside the venues, please take it home with you.
If your dog is ill please do not bring them to class, please come without your dog so that you do not miss the session.
If you miss a session we do not have time to catch you up during the next class, if you do want to catch up please book a one to one.
If you cannot make a session please make sure you let the instructors know.
Children are welcome at classes, but we would ask that they behave and do not disrupt the others in the group. If they are disruptive you may be asked to leave classes or not to bring them.
If you are bringing children to the class please make sure that you have enough adults at the class to supervise your dog and children.
Please do not let your children run around the venue. It is a dog training class not a playground
Please turn your mobile phone off or to silent. Being on your phone in class means you are not concentrating on your dog and you may miss vital information.
If your dog is aggressive the you will need to book behaviour counselling or the reactive dog class.
Classes are not a social outing for your dog so please do not let your dogs play whilst in class, unless instructed to do so by the instructor.
Please don't talk while the Instructor is speaking, each session is only 45 minutes, so it is important the Instructor can impart the information to you quickly so that you have maximum practice time.
While waiting for your class to start please keep your dogs under control, we have neighbours to the venues and we have to respect this.
Do not enter the main classroom until you are invited in, we often have other classes running before yours.
While waiting to be invited in please ensure you give enough room for the previous class to leave the hall without blocking their exit path. Your dog might be friendly, but the dogs leaving the class might not be!

ONE TO ONE & BEHAVIOUR COUNSELLING

Payment is due in advance by Bank Transfer.
Once booked all monies are non refundable.
Once booked you have 6 months to utilise the service.
All services are non transferable. You cannot pass unused sessions or services to someone else, you cannot transfer credit to another service.
Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will forfeit the cost of the session.
If the trainer deems the situation too risky, sees something dangerous or feels the dog has had enough, they reserve the right to cut the session short with no refunds.
You will need to follow all advice and put the work in between the sessions for the training to work.
In some cases the advice may be to not walk your dog to avoid the situations until your dog is at a point it can deal with the environment.
We may ask to liaise with your vet to ensure the result is as fair to the dog as possible.
If we are seeing you for reactivity you need to be aware that your dog may never want to or enjoy interacting with people or dogs. The aim is to change the dogs emotional reaction to the stimulus not make them love it.
